The Spanish Paleography Digital Teaching and Learning Tool is an open source project of the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY DSI) at the City College of New York (www.ccny.cuny.edu/dsi), made possible in part by a Start-Up Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Office of Digital Humanities (www.neh.gov) awarded in the summer of 2011. It was publicly launched for the first time in March, 2013. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed on this website do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The CUNY Dominican Studies Institute thanks greatly Spain's Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports (Ministerio de Educación Cultura y Deporte, http://www.mecd.gob.es/portada-mecd/) for accepting our request for an authorization agreement to allow the publication of images of manuscripts from the General Archives of the Indies (Archivo General de Indias) on this website.  Said request is under processing at the time of publication of this site.  Official granting of the request will be duly announced here at the time of receipt.  We owe special thanks as well to Dr. Carla Rahn Phillips,  Union Pacific Professor in Comparative Early Modern History at the Department of History, University of Minnesota, for her generous letter of support when the proposal for this project was first submitted to the NEH.
