Although somewhat time consuming and difficult in the beginning, learning to read early-modern handwriting styles is achievable by most people with a sound basic formal education. High school graduates, especially those with some exposure to historical and literary analysis, should be able to learn the deciphering the Spanish handwriting styles showcased in this Tool. We expect, therefore, that this website will be of interest and benefit to a wide range of people, from early modern culture scholars with advanced higher education degrees in the humanities to high school students with an interest in Spanish historical and literary studies.
